From the Reykjahlid village follow Hlidarvegur, passing by the school and then on gravel road until you hit the main road. Walk along the main road for 500 meters and then make a right turn where the road sign points to „Jardbodin“.

Alternatively from the Reykjahlid village, you can start your walk by the fissure  Storagja and hike through the birch forrrest towards the Grjotagja fissure and then follow the marked trail to „Jardbodin“.

From the Hverfjall crater there is a marked trail that you can follow to „Jardbodin“.
